Years ago, back when I was playing a whole lot more, I intermittently kept a golfing journal. Every now and then I would write something about how I finally figured something out. Of course, whatever that was would almost never last very long, and it wasn’t uncommon for me to write something later that was the complete opposite. For this blog, I thought it would be fun to start capturing these things and provide updates.
Tip: Stay relaxed through the swing and the ball

How it’s going: Through late March of 2022, this is still my primary focus. I’ve been on the course a couple of times, and while I haven’t been completely successful, it does seem to, at the very least, improve my misses. In my 3/27/22 round I struggled with this on right-handed tee shots, topping two drivers and a hybrid. I re-teed after one of these topped driver, and proceeded to crush one while swinging smoothly.
Tip: When putting, take practice strokes from a dead stop instead of swinging back and through repeatedly.

How it’s going: Through my second round (3/27/22), it seems to be working very well. In the 3/27/22 round, despite the fact that the greens had just been aerated, I got around with only 30 putts. I didn’t have any 3-putts, and I sank two 9-footers and a 12-footer. I seemed to have very good control over my pace. Through 4/25/2022, I’ve played a few more rounds, and this is definitely a keeper.
